Who is The Black Cross Band? Or better yet, why are the Black Cross Band? ... Black Cross are 6 Hunterdon County NJ musicians with a common love for Southern Rock n Roll and a border line obsession with performing live. They feed off of crowd response which is never for wanting at a Black Cross show.
The Black Cross Band first came together as a jam band for a private event many moons ago. The high end guest list of whose who from the local music scene at that event were very impressed and they made their satisfaction known to the host as well as the band members. The response was so overwhelming that the band decided to give it a go as it were ... Black Cross has morphed a few times over the years. With each version the band only got better and better finally resting on it's current line up which consists of:
Kenny Horvath - Lead Guitar / Co-Founder
Lenny DePiano - Keyboards
Tommy Lunger - Lead Vocals
Jamie Tiger - Drums / Vocals / Percussion
Wiley Moody - Bass Guitar
Don Miller - Lead Guitar/ Vocals / Band Leader / Co-Founder
Thats easy.
* Talent is the answer that first comes to mind. All six members of The Black Cross Band are seasoned professionals with years of experience in the music business and performing live in concert.
**Commitment to the music they recreate is second. This band will not settle for a just 'OK' performance. Every single performance is approached and presented with the same veracity. Whether they're in front of 100 or 1000, the commitment to the music does not waver.
*** Dedication to bringing you the best version of every song they cover comes in third. If you could be a 'fly on the wall' at a BCB rehearsal you would see for yourself the focus and dedication these guys have to bringing you the best version of every song they play.
In essence, all three of these factors are what separate The Black Cross Band from the others. The saying comes to mind "You've tried the rest ~ Now try the best" .. We'll leave the light on for ya.
To summarize. The Black Cross Band are 6 friends who came together over 10 years ago to form a band that would pay homage to what they consider one of the best genres in music. Then and now.
If you attend a Black Cross Band concert you can look at any member of the band and see the close relationships they all have with each other as well as the fun they have onstage at every show.. The Black Cross Band is family... From holiday gatherings to summertime BBQ's , the band sticks together. That closeness can be seen and felt at every performance. The brotherly love they hold for each other is matched only by their love for the music they make.
If you haven't been to a Black Cross Band show, or maybe you've seen other Southern Rock Tributes and you went home saying "They were pretty good" ... Well my friends and lovers of Southern Rock, you gotta check this band out next time they're around . You will see the difference from the first note played. But be forewarned, The Black Cross Band means to adopt you into their family. That family goes by the name "Black Cross Nation" and as they say "We're coming for ya"
The Black Cross Band will be taking only select bookings effective December 2022. If you have a private party happening and we're available we can talk .. Just reach out to us here. We're not going anywhere, we're just not going everywhere.
